These will be advertised on the Faculty vacancies pageon the University's vacancies pages and on www. Please note that faculty members may receive lots of requests for supervision and may not be able to respond immediately so potential applicants should always allow plenty of time to discuss research proposals.
This scheme provides full funding for a three year full-time fellowship. Applicants must be within three years of the award of their doctorate and they must be a UK or EEA national, or have completed a doctorate at a UK university, or have a strong prior association with the UK academic community.
The primary emphasis is on completion of a significant piece of publishable research. This scheme provides funding for a full time three-year fellowship for early career researchers not more than 5 years from their PhD date with a proven track record of research.
It is therefore likely that the Law Faculty will support a limited number of these applications each year. Applicants must either hold a degree from a UK higher education institution or hold a fixed term academic position in the UK.
These grants replace the Future Research Leaders scheme. Proposals are welcomed across the full disciplinary range of the social sciences and at the interface with the wider sciences, however the social sciences must represent at least 50 per cent of the research focus and effort. You will be able to submit applications for this scheme at any time- there are no fixed closing dates.
Read more on the ESRC website about the new scheme. This fellowship scheme accepts applications from post-doctoral researchers across all disciplines of physical, natural and social sciences, and the humanities from around the world. Applicants should be working outside the UK and should not hold UK citizenship at the time of application. The next deadline for this fellowship is likely to be March If interested, please contact Karen Eveleigh before early February Reard more on the Faculty pages about the Newton International Fellowship.
For more information read the Newton International Fellowship guidelines. These are for researchers from other countries within or outside Europe to come to Oxford for two years. The scheme provides full salary plus a research allowance. Applicants should have a PhD or have completed at least 4 years of research experience after a degree which would have entitled them to study for a PhD. Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the UK for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the deadline.
There are no restrictions on nationality. If interested in applying for this opportunity, please contact Karen Eveleigh before mid July. Skip to main content. You are here Staff.Monitor a subject and be informed about services that match your interest profile via email.

Application deadline is 15 November The event invited junior scholars from across Europe to present and discuss their research work.
Junior researchers from throughout Europa were invited to present and discuss their research findings. The resulting group offered an impressive diversity of research areas and methodical approaches.
Broadly speaking, the presentations fell into three categories, representing the areas of work and interest of the three Max Planck Institute directors. Reinhard Zimmermann took the chair for the first session, dealing with the area of civil law.Language arts syllabus
She examined the regulatory systems in Italy, England and the USA, using a comparative analysis to detail the key problem areas.
This discussion included the parole evidence rule, an important element of English law, which provides that the contract is restricted to the relevant document itself and does not permit the use of other information or documentation to assist in its interpretation. Naturally, a rule such as this cannot come into being without some loopholes; the presentation thus also examined the matter of rectification at a practical comparative level.
Lyczykiewicz however took the view that the choice of legal remedy should be left to the Member States. The next topic group dealt with company law and capital market law, led by Holger Fleischer. The subsequent discussion centred on concerns regarding the prohibition on financial assistance.
Revealingly, this has done little to decrease the frequent, evidently practically driven use of leveraged buy-outs. The conference closed with two presentations primarily addressing questions of legal method in the context of commercial law.
At the end of the conference Holger Fleischer expressed his admiration for the quality of the contributions and closed the conference with a sincere thanks to the presenters for their challenging and highly interesting presentations. On 19 and 20 May the Institute hosted the second Max Planck Postdoc Conference on European Private Law at which junior researchers from throughout Europe are invited to present and discuss their research work.
On 27 and 28 June the Institute held the first Max Planck Postdoc Conference on European Private Law at which 18 junior researchers from across Europe were invited to present and discuss their research work. The conference was conducted in English and French. As an extension of the successful Habilitandenkolloquien which the Institute has organised sincethe conference had the goal of fostering exchange and building networks among young scholars as well as presenting both the work and library of the Hamburg Max Planck Institute.
